Niger Tornadoes midfielder Chidiebere Ernest is optimistic about his side’s ability to get a good result in the matchday 11 fixture against Doma United.
Doma United will play host to Niger Tornadoes at the Pantami Stadium on Saturday.
The Savannah Tigers are unbeaten in their last six games.
Ernest said the Ikon Allah Boys will consolidate on last week’s victory against Akwa United
He stated that the team is highly motivated for the match.
“We knew the game against Akwa United was going to be difficult, but we had our plans mapped out, of which maximum point was the only target, and thank God, with collective effort and contribution from the technical crew, management, my colleagues, and everyone, we were able to pull it off—we are going to use the win as a propeller to climb the ladder,” he told the club’s media.
“Coming to this weekend’s tie against Doma United, the mentality is still the same: to go in there and prove our mettle. We have played some really good games on the road this season, but luck only deserted us. We are going to put in extra effort to be able to get something out of this game.
“Doma United are a good side, very disciplined, but we equally have players who can hold their own against any side in the league. Gombe fans are passionate lovers of the round leather game; it’s a massive football-loving environment and the support is helping the two clubs in the state.”
Doma United defeated Niger Tornadoes 2-1 when both teams met last season.
The Savannah Tigers are yet to concede at home this season.
