We are not aware of abducted ex-Rep’s killing – Delta State Police Command

The Delta State Police Command has said it is not aware of the alleged killing of Joan Mrakpor, also known as Ada-Anioma, a former member of the House of Representatives who was abducted by gunmen.

There were reports that Mrakpor had been killed by her abductors. It was also reported that her dead body was seen dumped in a part of the state.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Police Command, SP Bright Edafe, said the are false, adding that the ex-Delta State commissioner’s abductors had not made any contact.

“The team of security personnel deployed to the bank of the River Niger in both Asaba and Onitsha to verify her death or release returned without success,” the police spokesman said.

Kidnapers had on Tuesday forcefully abducted Mrakpor from her church in Asaba, after killing a police orderly and driver attached to her.
