WAFU U-17: Ghana coach, Kingston resigns ahead Golden Eaglets tie

Black Starlets of Ghana head coach, Laryea Kingston has resigned from the position after the team’s loss to Burkina Faso on Saturday night.

The host nation fell to a agonising 2-1 loss to the Burkinabes in the semi-final contest.

The former world champions missed out on a place at the 2024 FIFA U-17 World Cup following the defeat.

Laryea announced his resignation on the way to the team’s hotel.

The former international also refused to attend the mandatory post-match conference.

Ghana will face eternal rivals Nigeria in the third-place match on Tuesday.
