Golden Eaglets head coach Manu Garba says his team’s main target is to get to the final at the WAFU B U-17 Championship in Accra, Ghana.
The two finalists at the competition will earn a berth at the Africa U-17 Cup of Nations.
The Golden Eaglets won the title two years ago which was also hosted by Ghana.
Garba said his players have settled down well in Accra and are focused on the task ahead.
“The players have been responding to training. The weather is similar to what we experienced in Abuja before our departure. Our primary objective is to get one of the two tickets from here to the Africa U17 Cup of Nations. We will focus on the matches one at a time. For now, we are focused on our opening game against Burkina Faso on Thursday,” he told thenff.com.
The Eaglets will begin the defence of their title against Burkina Faso at the University Stadium on Thursday.
Their second game is against Niger Republic on Sunday, 19th May, while they will face Togo in the last group game on Wednesday, 22nd May.
