US Election: Michelle Obama rules out replacing Biden as Democratic Party nominee

Former United States, US, First Lady, Michelle Obama has made her stance known following reports that she was warming up to replace Joe Biden as the Democratic Party nominee for the 2024 presidential election.

Concerns over Biden’s age have fuelled speculations that the President could be replaced as the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate.

US Democrats are said to be worried that an 86-year-old President might not be what the people want at this time.

They were said to be considering the former President’s wife, Mrs Obama, as his replacement.

However, the former First Lady’s team told NBC that “She will not be running for President.”

“Mrs Obama supports President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’ reelection campaign,” said Obama’s communications director, Crystal Carson.

Biden, on his part, has brushed aside speculations surrounding his ability to continue in the race.

He told MSNBC in May that he thinks his age is an asset for his candidacy because he’s “more experienced than anybody that’s ever run for the office.”
