Former US President and Republican Party candidate, Donald Trump, has lambasted actor, George Clooney, for urging President Joe Biden to resign as the Democratic Party’s candidate in the upcoming election.
Clooney had written an essay saying Biden should drop out of the race despite claiming he “saved” America’s democracy.
Reacting in a statement shared via his X handle, Trump blasted Clooney for saying Biden saved US democracy.
He labelled the thespian “a fake who never came close to making a great movie.”
Trump’s statement partly read: “So now fake movie actor George Clooney, who never came close to making a great movie, is getting into the act. He’s turned on Crooked Joe like the rats they both are.
“What does Clooney know about anything? He uses the Democrat ‘talking point’ that Biden, the worst President in the history of the United States, has ‘saved our Democracy.’”
He argued that Biden didn’t save America’s democracy but rather he weaponised the law enforcement agencies against the opposition, created the most “devastating inflation in the history of our country,” embarrassed America in Afghanistan, and allowed illegal migration.
On November 5th, Trump would run against Biden of the Democratic Party on the platform of the Republican Party in what would be America’s first rematch election in almost 70 years.
