Cyriel Dessers is happy to silence his critics once again after hitting target in Rangers’ away clash at Dynamo Kiev on Tuesday.
Philippe Clement’s side held their host to a 1-1 draw in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League final qualifying round.
Captain, Andriy Yarmolenko gave the hosts the lead seven minutes before the break.
Dessers however restored parity for the visitors deep into stoppage time.
The Nigeria international has been constantly criticized by a section of Rangers’ fans since his arrival at the club.
The forward however said he is always focused on his job.
“I don’t have to answer people, I’m just doing my job for the team, for the manager, and for myself.
“That’s the only thing that matters,” Dessers was quoted by BBC.
“It would be nice to get more recognition for what you do, but I get the recognition inside the building and that’s most important.
“There are always reactions from the media or from a small part of the fans – but the bigger part of the fans gave me a lot of support and a lot of love.”
