New Zealand captain Alyssha Eglinton says the team is battle ready for their opening fixture at the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup against Nigeria.
The Oceania champions will confront Bankole Olowookere’s side on Wednesday night.
The Flamingos are overwhelming favourites to win the contest going by their past record in the competition.
Nigeria finished third at the last edition of the competition hosted by India.
Eglinton believed that the Young Ferns have what it takes to beat the Flamingos.
“I think as a team, we’ve really come together over the past 10 days that we’ve been here, and over the past year. So I think together we’re super ready and quite confident in ourselves and our ability,” Eglinton told FIFA.com
