Troops foil bandit attack, recover weapons in Taraba

Troops of the 93 Battalion of the Nigerian Army’s 3 Division, Operation SAFE HAVEN, have repelled a bandit attack on Chanchanji community in Takum LGA of Taraba State.

Disclosing this, security expert, Zagazola Makama, said that the attack, which took place around 10:30 am on November 13, 2024, was reportedly a reprisal by a group of bandits following the recent arrest of 12 suspects from the area.

DAILY POST recalls that troops of the Nigerian Army had apprehended 12 suspected kidnappers, recovered 14 motorcycles, a pistol and two bags of Indian hemp on November 9 in the same community.

During the operation, the troops engaged the armed bandits, forcing them to retreat.

However, one bandit was neutralized, and troops recovered an array of items, including an AK-47 rifle, two AK-47 magazines, twelve rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, and a Motorola handheld radio.
