Wrexham co-owner, Rob McElhenny has revealed that the club are currently locked in discussion with Arthur Okonkwo over a permanent transfer.
Okonkwo impressed on loan at Wrexham last season.
The Nigerian-born goalkeeper caught the eye of a number of clubs in the Premier League and Sky Bet Championship following his impressive displays.
The 22-year-old is still weighing his options after leaving Arsenal following the expiration of his contract.
Asked about the possibility of Okonkwo rejoining the club, Elhenney told The Sun; “There is a very good chance.
“We’re talking to Arthur right now, we know he wants to come back to Wrexham and we definitely want him, so it’s about working out the right deal that works out for everyone.”
Okonkwo made 40 appearances for Wrexham in all competitions during the 2023/24 season.
