New Manchester United defender, Leny Yoro, has spoken for the first time after joining the club from Lille.
Yoro has turned down interest from Real Madrid to complete a £60 million transfer to Old Trafford.
United will pay just over £52 million upfront and £6.5 million in add-ons.
It was thought Madrid was the 18-year-old’s preferred choice, but United worked hard to convince the Frenchman to join as he was considered a priority signing.
In a statement on Thursday, Yoro said: “Signing for a club with the stature and ambition of Manchester United so early in my career is an incredible honour.
“Since my first conversations with the club, they set out a clear plan for how I can develop in Manchester as part of this exciting project, and showed a lot of care for me and my family.”
