Watford legend Troy Deeney has said that Bournemouth forward Dominic Solanke should prioritise joining Arsenal over Tottenham Hotspur.
Deeney believes Solanke would be a better fit for Arsenal than Tottenham.
Solanke had an impressive 2023–2024 season with Bournemouth.
He scored 19 goals and provided three assists in 38 league matches.
Solanke has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur as the Premier League club searches for a replacement for Harry Kane.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Deeney instead wants Tottenham to go for Brentford’s Ivan Toney as a more suitable option than Solanke.
“I think Solanke works better at somewhere like Arsenal, where he has to be on the end of something,” Deeney said during an appearance on talkSPORT.
“If you’re going to spend £65 million, which is the reported fee, I would expect them [Tottenham Hotspur] to go for Toney if they can get him.”
