Manchester City confirmed on Friday that their defender Sergio Gomez has left the club to join Spanish LaLiga side Real Sociedad on a permanent transfer.
The Premier League champions made this known in a statement on their website.
Gomez spent two seasons at Pep Guardiola’s side after signing in 2022 from Anderlecht.
The 23-year-old’s time at the Etihad Stadium saw him make 38 appearances as he helped City win six trophies.
He was part of the squad that won the Treble of the Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League in 2022–23.
Gomez also won the UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup and Premier League across 2023–24.
“Everyone at Manchester City sends their best wishes to Sergio ahead of his move to Real Sociedad,” Manchester City’s statement partly read.
