Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has confirmed that Julian Alvarez is on his way out of the club.
The Premier League champions have agreed a £81 million fee with Atletico Madrid for Alvarez.
Guardiola, speaking to the press ahead of the Community Shield, says the player wanted to leave this summer.
“He wants to leave and Atlético is a top club, so it’s okay.
“Good luck to Juli, we loved him, we won everything”.
“I really wish him all the best,” Guardiola said.
Alvarez’s exit leaves City with only Erling Haaland as the out-and-out striker in Guardiola’s squad.
