Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has his sights set on signing Paris Saint-Germain’s loaned attacking midfielder, Xavi Simons, this summer, according to Fichajes.
At just 20 years of age, Simons has impressed in his first season in Germany with RB Leipzig, potentially becoming a replacement for Kevin De Bruyne, should the Belgian midfielder leave Manchester City in the summer transfer window.
Reports suggest that De Bruyne has garnered interest from the Saudi Pro League, which could lead to a possible departure from the Etihad.
Simons has made 36 appearances this season across all competitions, boasting nine goals and 13 assists in his promising performances for Leipzig.
PSG has not yet determined Simons’ future, even as he completes his loan spell in Germany in June 2024.
The Parisians are reportedly open to negotiating a swap deal involving Simons and Bernardo Silva, the Portuguese midfielder currently playing for Manchester City.
