Former Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea will not be joining Italian Serie A club Genoa as earlier planned because of differences in wage negotiations, as per talkSPORT.
The Spanish shot-stopper was primed to return to active football with the Genoa, having been a free agent for over a year.
The 33-year-old joined Manchester United for 12 years before leaving Old Trafford at the end of the 2022–23 season.
His contract with the Red Devils ran out and he failed to agree on an extension with the Premier League club.
De Gea spent the last year training by himself without joining any club, despite having interest from Saudi Arabia and the USA.
He was in advanced talks with Genoa to make a move to the club but according to the latest report, he will not be joining them this summer transfer window.
