Chelsea are set to battle Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain for Lille defender, Leny Yoro, who is viewed as a potential replacement for Thiago Silva at Stamford Bridge.
Silva is set to turn 40 in September this year and the Brazilian is expected to depart the Blues at the end of the season when his contract expires.
Despite making 23 Premier League appearances so far this season for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, Silva has been an unused substitute for their last two games despite the likes of Benoit Badiashile, Wesley Fofana and Levi Colwill being out injured.
However, according to a report from the Evening Standard, Chelsea are interested in signing Yoro.
The report added that the 18-year-old is ‘considered an ideal addition’ by club chiefs, but they will face stiff competition from Real Madrid and PSG for his signature.
Both Madrid and PSG are also said to be interested in Yoro and they would be able to offer him Champions League football next season.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are also exploring other defensive options as well, including Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo and Sporting’s Ousmane Diomande.
