Millwall goalkeeper, Matija Sarkic, has died at 26.
Sarkic fell ill while on international duty with Montenegro.
He was in the coastal Montenegro town of Budva, when he reportedly fell ill while with friends at an apartment on Saturday morning.
Although he was quickly taken away by an ambulance from the scene, he gave up the ghost around 6:30 am local time.
Local police have now begun an investigation into Sarkic’s death, although it is being suggested that the death was due to natural causes.
Championship side Millwall, in a statement said they were devastated about the news and also blacked out their X profile out of respect.
