Salihu Lukman, former National Vice Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, has alleged that the President Bola Tinubu-led administration is running different budgets simultaneously.
Lukeman, a staunch critic of the present government, made the allegation while featuring on Channels TV programme, Politics Today.
The APC chieftain who failed to back his claim with data, expressed concerns that the alleged action of the Federal Government would worsen corruption in the country.
“For the first time, we are having a situation where about two or three budgets are being run concurrently at the federal level and what that means is that the chances that corruption may increase are higher,” he alleged.
Admitting the failure of the party to solve the country’s critical problems, particularly insecurity, Lukman said the security situation in the country is worsening under Tinubu’s government.
He said, “2014-2015, as a party, we promised three things. We promised to revive the economy, we promised to deal with corruption and fight insecurity.
“On the issue of insecurity, at that time, the critical issue was Boko Haram. It didn’t degenerate to banditry the way we are having it now.”
He added, “The Asiwaju that ruled Lagos is not the Asiwaju that’s ruling Nigeria today, I believe that he doesn’t have the right people around him.”
He further stated that the “ruling and opposition parties are all the same so in actuality Nigeria has no parties, just politicians who act the same way”.
