Tinubu, Gowon unveil book in honour of Buhari amid Abuja insecurity

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former military head of state, Gen Yakubu Gowon, on Tuesday unveiled ex-president Muhammadu Buhari’s book in Abuja amid heightened insecurity in the nation’s capital.

The book, authored by Buhari’s spokesperson, Femi Adesina, was presented alongside five volumes of another book titled ‘Muhammadu Buhari, The Nigerian Legacy, 2015 to 2023.’

This was the first time Buhari was returning to Abuja months after the handover on May 29, 2023.

Others present at the event are former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, former First Lady Aisha Buhari, and Buhari’s Senator, Godswill Akpabio.

Meanwhile, other past Nigerian leaders, such as Goodluck Jonathan, Olusegun Obasanjo and others, were conspicuously absent.

The event comes in the wake of increased insecurity caused by rampaging bandits, criminals and kidnappers in the Federal Capital Territory.

Meanwhile, DAILY POST reports that the Minister of FCT summoned an emergency security meeting on Tuesday to address the situation.
