Three docked for alleged house breaking, stealing in Ibadan

The Police on Thursday in Ibadan arraigned three persons for alleged house breaking and stealing.

The defendants, Folake Jimoh, Hashiru Yerima and Hassan Alidu, whose addresses were not provided, are charged with conspiracy stealing and house breaking.

They, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges before Iyaganku Magistrates Court.

The prosecutor, Insp Oladejo Balogun, had informed the court that the defendants committed the offences on September 18 at 5.30 p.m., at Ojoo, Ibadan.

Balogun said that Jimoh broke into the house of one Mr Abiodun Akinbiyi and stole his valuables worth N2, 067, 000.

He said that the valuables included laptops, electric iron, hot plates and wristwatches.

The prosecutor added that Yerima and Alidu received the items knowing that they were stolen.

He said that the offences contravened Sections 517 and 411 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The Magistrate, Mrs Olasinmibo Sanusi-Zubair, granted the defendants bail in the sum of one million Naira each, with two sureties each in like sum.

She adjourned the case until November 12, for hearing.
