‘There are alternatives to corruption’ – EFCC chair Olukoyede advises youths

The chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has charged youths across the country to know that there are good alternatives to corruption and crimes.

He urged them to channel their creative energy into positive self-drive and entrepreneurial advancement.

Olukoyede gave the charge on Thursday while addressing NYSC Corps members of Batch C, Stream 1, in Rivers State.

The EFCC chairman, represented by Ogar Sunday, the acting Head of Public Affairs Department of the Port Harcourt zonal command, charged youths to stay away from any act that fails the integrity test.

According to him, youths should begin to look inward and come up with ideas, perspectives, and drives that could grow the economy by taking up the challenge of fighting corrupt practices.

The statement reads in part: “Those who take shortcuts are always cut short. There should be a new orientation for youths in other locations in Kaduna, Makurdi, Uyo, Keffi, Ilorin, Maiduguri, and Benin City.

“Youths need to know that there are good alternatives to corruption, and these are positive self-drives, commitment to enterprise and entrepreneurship, creativity, and development-focused thinking.”
