Terrorism: Bandits attack where there’s no military presence – Defence Minister

The Minister of Defence, Muhammad Badaru, has disclosed the latest approach by bandits in the Northern part of Nigeria.

Badaru disclosed that bandits now attack areas where the military is not present.

Addressing journalists at Jaji Military Cantonment in Kaduna, Badaru explained that bandits are taking advantage of the shortage of military personnel.

He, however, noted that despite the challenges, the military has continued to decimate these bandits.

According to Badaru: “The military is not enough, what the bandits do is take advantage of soft targets.

“They find out where there is absence of the military, they attack and run to the bushes.”

Badaru’s narration of insufficient soldiers is not new as previous military and defence chiefs had expressed similar views.
