Taraba: NSCDC commandant urges officers to uphold federal trust in promotions

The leadership of the Taraba State command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has urged the newly promoted officers in the command to seize the opportunity presented by their promotions and fulfill the expectations placed on them by the federal government.

The state commander, Adamu Salihu, made this appeal on Saturday in Jalingo, the state capital, while participating in the decoration ceremony for the newly promoted officers.

It would be recalled that the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, recently announced that the Federal Government had granted promotions to 21,385 personnel of the NSCDC. Over three hundred personnel of the corps serving in the state were observed to have benefited from this promotion.

Admitting that this promotion marks an unprecedented event for the corps, Salihu added that the Commandant General of the NSCDC, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, has put an end to the culture of stagnation and delays in personnel promotions within the corps.

“This is the first time we are witnessing this kind of massive promotion in the Corps,” stated Salihu.

He urged the beneficiaries to reciprocate the gesture, emphasizing that with honour comes a responsibility to demonstrate commitment to duty and provide selfless service to the nation.

The state governor, Agbu Kefas, expressed delight at the development through the Secretary to the Government of the State, Barrister Gebon T. Kataps, and reassured the command of the state government’s continued support to enhance the effectiveness of the corps in the state.
