Sports Minister John Enoh has said a new head coach will be appointed for the Super Eagles before the start of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers next month.
The position became vacant following Finidi George’s resignation in June.
The Super Eagles are scheduled to take on Benin Republic and Rwanda in their opening two games in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers in September.
The three-time African champions will host the Cheetahs at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, on Saturday, September 7.
They will face the Amavubi three days later at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali.
“The appointment will be sooner rather than later,” Enoh said Wednesday on Channels TV programme, Politics Tonight.
