The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has denied it held talks with French tactician Herve Renard for the vacant Super Eagles coaching job.
Africa soccer.com reported on Monday that the NFF are in contact with Renard to tinker with the Super Eagles.
“This report is inaccurate. We’ve not contacted Renard or his reps,” a top official of the NFF told BBC Africa.
The NFF are in the hunt for a new head coach for the Super Eagles following Finidi George’s resignation, a few weeks ago.
Finidi was in charge of the three-time African champions for around one month.
A new coach is expected to be in place before the start of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in September.
The Super Eagles are second-bottom of their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying group without a win and four points off the top two.
