Fulham star Alex Iwobi has named his ideal Super Eagles starting lineup.
The starting XI is composed solely of players he has shared the field with during his senior international career with the national team.
In an interview with Victor Modo at the Super Eagles camp in Uyo ahead of Nigeria’s World Cup qualifier against South Africa, Iwobi selected former Wolves star Carl Ikeme as the goalkeeper in a 4-3-3 formation.
In defence, he chose Efe Ambrose and the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations Best Player William Troost-Ekong as the centre-backs, with Ola Aina as the right-back and Elderson Echiejile on the left.
His midfield trio consists of Chelsea legend John Obi Mikel, former Lazio star Ogenyi Onazi, and Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi.
Leading the attack, the former Arsenal player picked the reigning African Footballer of the Year, Victor Osimhen, flanked by Victor Moses and Ademola Lookman.
