Sunshine Stars head coach, Kennedy Boboye says his side deserved the South West derby victory over Remo Stars.
Boboye however acknowledged the fighting spirit of their opponent in the game.
Chinedu Nwosu bagged a brace for Sunshine Stars who moved up to 11th position on the table following the win.
The defeat ended Remo Stars’ hope of winning a first Nigeria Premier Football League title.
“It’s a sweet victory for us and a well deserved one, I’m glad we won, but not forgetting we still have two matches to play, I must also give kudos to the visitors, they gave us a good fight,” Boboye told the club’s media.
Sunshine Stars will face Doma United in a rescheduled game on Wednesday.
