So-Safe Corps apprehends 3 for vandalising transformer, recovers exhibits in Ogun

The So-Safe Corps in Ogun State has arrested three men for vandalizing and stealing transformer cables in Idiroko, Ipokia Local Government Area of the state.

The arrest was contained in a statement made available to newsmen in Abeokuta on Tuesday by the corps spokesman, Moruf Yusuf.

According to the statement, the suspects, Eze Sunday, an ex-convict, Eze John Charles, and Jamilu Danjuma, were arrested on Sunday at about 5:30am.

Yusuf noted that on interrogation, the first two confessed to the crime and mentioned the third suspect (Dandjuma) as the receiver of the stolen items.

He added that the suspects and the recovered exhibits, including burnt and separated copper wires, have been transferred to the Nigeria Police Force, Idiroko Divisional Headquarters, for further investigation and likely prosecution.

“The patrol team led by Chief Superintendent of Corps, Abdulkareem Abdulrazaq, arrested the suspects on May 26, 2024, at about 0530hrs.

“This arrest is a testament to the corps’ commitment to tackling vandalism and theft in the state,”

“We will continue to work tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of Ogun State citizens,” the statement reads.
