Six players battle for NPFL Player of the Month award for December

Six players have been nominated for the Nigeria Premier Football League Player of the Month award for December.

The players shortlisted are Ahmed Jimoh (Gombe United), Albert Hilary (Plateau United), Jide Fatokun (Remo Stars), Samson Obi (Abia Warriors) and Yusuf Abdullahi (Kano Pillars).

In-form winger, Abdullahi Yusuf netted five goals during Kano Pillars 5-2 win against Gombe United on matchday 11 fixture in Kano.

Forward Albert Hilary netted six goals for Plateau United.

Veteran forward, Sikiru Alimi continued his goal-scoring feat for Remo Stars in the league.

Alimi extended his goal tally to 11 goals in the month.

Gombe United, Ahmed Jimoh’s contribution from the midfield has not gone unnoticed, despite the team’s lack of motivation from the state government.

Jimoh has registered four goals for the Savannah Scorpions this season.

Samson Obi scored four goals for Abia Warriors in the month, which paved the way for his nomination in the month.

Jide Fatokun’s composed showing in Remo Stars midfield has yielded good results for the team.

He featured in all six matches for the Sky Blue Stars in their bid to win a first NPFL title.

Remo Stars currently top the standings with 29 points.

The winner of the award will be announced next week.
