Shehu Sani urges Nigerian govt to make N70,000 NYSC allowance reality

Former lawmaker Senator Shehu Sani has told the Nigerian government to turn from fake to real the report about the N70,000 increment of the National Youth Service Corps members allowance.

Sani, in a post on his X handle, lamented that corps members jubilated over the increment only to be told it’s fake news.

He said: “The youth Corpsers jubilated over the 70k increment only to be told it’s fake news. The FG should just turn the fake to real; this fake is a good fake.”

DAILY POST earlier reported that a report making the rounds on social media claimed that corps members’ bank accounts were being upgraded to accommodate the new N70, 000 minimum wage.

However, the NYSC management, in a statement signed by Eddy Megwa, Director, Information and Public Relations, described the story as misleading.

The NYSC said no directive has been given by the relevant authority for it to start the payment of N70,000 minimum wage to corps members or to upgrade their accounts.
