Napoli manager, Francesco Calzona, has admitted Victor Osimhen is gradually hitting top form again.
The Nigeria international netted a hat-trick in the reigning Serie A champions 6-1 demolition of Sassuolo on Wednesday night.
The 25-year-old also provided the hat-trick for Kvicha Kvaratskhelia’s fifth goal.
Osimhen has now scored five goals in three outings since returning from the Africa Cup of Nations.
“Victor is returning to his levels. Clearly, he wasn’t in great shape after the Africa Cup of Nations, he was away for over a month and is slowly rediscovering his form,” Calzona told DAZN after the game.
“Kvara also struggled, but today showed just what he can do.”
“I sensed positivity from the first training session, the lads aways gave me their all. I was surprised to see how eager they were to work, to stay together, and that gave me hope.”
Osimhen featured for 76 minutes in the game, before he was replaced by Giovanni Simeone.
The striker has scored 13 goals and registered four assists in 21 appearances across all competitions for the Partenopei this season.
