Senator urges NEMA to investigate recent fire incidents in Ibadan

The Chairman, Senate Committee on Electoral Matters, Senator Sharafadeen Alli has advised the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, and other relevant agencies to investigate recent fire incidents in Oyo State.

Alli made the call on Monday.

DAILY POST reports that no fewer than four fire incidents have been recorded in Oyo State in recent days.

Alli, who represents Oyo South Senatorial District, urged the relevant agencies to investigate the cause of the fire incidents in the state.

The All Progressives Congress, APC, chieftain, in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Akeem Abas, commiserated with the traders at Sango Market in Ibadan over the inferno, which destroyed goods worth millions of Naira.

The lawmaker emphasised the need for prompt action and support from relevant authorities to assist the affected traders in recovering from the incident.

He also called on the Oyo State Government and well-meaning individuals to assist the traders financially, rehabilitate the affected shops, and provide necessary resources to help them rebuild their businesses.
