Senator Natasha commiserates flood victims in Borno, Bauchi

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing the Kogi Central Senatorial District, has commiserated with the people and government of Borno and Bauchi States over the recent flood disaster.

Heavy rains in recent days have led to the collapse of Alau Dam near Maiduguri, the Borno state capital, causing extensive damage to buildings, infrastructure, and farmlands.

DAILY POST observed that in Bauchi, flooding was caused by heavy downpours. Both states, along with Yobe, have experienced the loss of residents.

The lawmaker expressed her solidarity and called for swift intervention by the governments of the affected states.

She commended the Federal Government, as well as the Borno and Bauchi state governments, emergency responders, and humanitarian organizations for their tireless efforts in providing relief.

In a statement issued by her Chief Press Secretary, Arogbonlo Israel, on Wednesday in Abuja, Natasha urged the governments to implement measures to prevent similar disasters in the future.
