The Nigerian Airspace Management Agency has appealed to the federal government under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to reverse the 50 per cent revenue deduction implementation.
Farouk Umar, managing director of NAMA disclosed this in a recent statement.
According to him, the 50 per cent revenue deduction policy has hampered funding to the agency.
He noted that reversing the policy directive would ensure air safety.
“Without adequate funding, we cannot meet the high costs of procuring and maintaining essential equipment or ensuring the continuous training of our technical staff, which is vital for maintaining safety standards.
“By reversing the 50 percent revenue deduction, we can significantly enhance air safety, ensuring that Nigeria’s skies remain safe and maintain high safety standards”, he said.
The federal government had through the Ministry of Finance directed its self-funded enterprises to implement automatic 50 per cent remittance of total revenue.
Recall that Wale Edun, Minister of Finance at a sectoral briefing recently in Abuja, said Nigeria’s revenue has rejuvenated in the last year.
