Rescue abducted students in Kaduna without paying ransom – Tinubu orders security personnel

The incident involving the kidnap of over 200 students in Kaduna State was deliberated extensively at the Federal Executive Council meeting on Wednesday, prompting President Bola Tinubu to issue a stern directive to the security personnel not to pay any dime to the abductors in the course of rescuing them.

Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris made the directive known while briefing State House Correspondents.

According to Idris, the President has issued a directive to the security personnel to go after the abductors and ensure they rescue the captives and reunite them with their families without paying a dime as ransom.

Recall that over 280 pupils and teachers of Government Secondary School and LEA primary school at Kuriga, Kaduna State were abducted by bandits recently, triggering national outrage.

The bandits reportedly invaded the Kuriga area of the Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, shooting at their victims before taking at least 280 students and teachers away.
