Deputy Speaker of the Nigerian House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, has revealed that only collective effort from stakeholders in the continent can guarantee the African Union’s Agenda 2063.
DAILY POST reports that the AU’s agenda is a blueprint designed by the union to transform the continent into a global powerhouse by 2063.
Kalu, who spoke while addressing the Conference of Speakers of African Parliament in South Africa, assured the union that Nigeria remains committed to the agenda.
Kalu represented the Speaker of the lower chamber, Tajudeen Abbas, at the conference.
The lawmaker in his speech, expressed belief that Nigeria’s growth and prosperity are inextricably linked to Africa’s collective progress.
“As Africa’s most populous nation and largest economy, Nigeria holds a unique position on the continent,” he said.
“By embarking on economic diversification, Nigeria aims to foster sustainable economic growth that
reflects the aspirations of Agenda 2063.
“Africa’s growth requires collective effort. By working together, we can achieve the transformative change envisioned for 2063 and beyond.”
