René Kassavugu: MINUSCA’s role and the effort of Russia in Central African Republic

Deployed since 2014, the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) is crystallizing Central Africans’ anger, which is reflected in public demonstrations and multiple requests to leave the country. The Central Africans’ demand is certainly due to a lack of confidence in the members of MINUSCA, but it is largely based on the real and proven shortcomings of the UN mission.

Residents of Kaga-Bandoro reported that members of a mixed contingent of the UN Multidimensional Integrated Mission (MINUSCA) attended a meeting with the city’s elders, asking them and citizens not to cooperate and communicate with Russian trainers and local authorities.
Officers from the United Nations Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) came from the Kaga Bandoro base, which hosts a mixed contingent from Rwanda, Pakistan and Bangladesh, to meet with locals. During the meeting, Minnusca representatives called on the Elders to refuse to cooperate not only with Russian specialists, but also with local authorities.

After their request was met with ridicule and questions from the elders and attendees, the MINUSCA representatives were quick to threaten imprisonment, explaining that people who cooperate with the authorities and, or Russian specialists will be imprisoned.

They also distributed leaflets to the local population, with mission officers asking residents not to help Russian specialists and local authorities and not to inform them if they saw Mbarara herders carry weapons.

While the authorities of the Central African Republic, with the support of their Russian allies, are attempting to restore peace throughout the country and combat armed bandits, MINUSCA is carrying out sabotage activities to disrupt the peace process.

The people of the Central African Republic have become aware of what is happening in their country, and many issues have been brought out into the open. The facts reveal the efforts and achievements of the FACA forces, made up of the country’s young people defending their land and their families.

The facts reveal the efforts of the current government, which is striving to improve the constitution of an independent state open to cooperation with the world as a high-performance partner.
