Remo Stars have hailed the impressive contribution of forward Franck Mawuena to the team’s victory over Rivers United.
Mawuena scored and provided an assist in Remo Stars’ 2-1 victory over Rivers United in Ikenne on Monday.
Haruna Hadi scored the leveller for Remo Stars, cancelling out Andy Okpe’s opening goal for the visitors.
Mawuena came in as a second-half substitute and scored the decisive goal seven minutes from time.
“Five months out due to injury, off the bench, what can we do without our awesome Togolese Franck Mawuena,” reads a message on Remo Stars’ X account.
Daniel Ogunmodede’s side, which moved to second place on the log, reduced the gap between them and league leaders Rangers to one point.
