Former Katsina State Governor, Ibrahim Shema, has praised Governor Dikko Umar Radda for his exploits in the last five months.
Shema, who highlighted the significance of Governor Radda’s initiatives, particularly noted the recruitment of 7, 325 teachers, construction of three specialised model schools, and other substantial financial commitments to educational advancements as essential strides towards a brighter future for the youths of Katsina State.
He made the remark on Friday while speaking at the “Lecture and Award Day” ceremony organised by the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua University (UMYU).
While lauding the incumbent governor’s efforts as a positive beginning, Shema prayed for divine guidance, protection, wisdom, and continued success for Radda to surpass the accomplishments of his predecessors.
In a tribute to Shema’s role in shaping the university, Prof. Shehu Salihu Muhammad, the Vice-Chancellor, praised the former governor for executing numerous commendable projects during his eight-year tenure, earning him the admiration and celebration of the entire university community and the state.
Prof. Muhammad also paid tribute to the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua for initiating the establishment of the university and commended the subsequent efforts of his predecessors in upholding and developing the institution.
Expressing gratitude to the present administration of Gov Radda, Prof. Muhammad acknowledged the continued attention and support provided to the university. He expressed the university’s commitment to aligning with governmental policies for the betterment of society and ensuring quality education and training for their growing student population.
In the same vein, the Dean of the Faculty of Law at the university, Dr Binta Dalhat Dan-Ali, described Shema as “a stalwart in educational development,” highlighting his contributions towards establishing the Faculty of Law and nurturing a culture of excellence among students and staff.
