Put an end to bandits attack in Katsina – Reps urge Tinubu

The House of Representatives charged President Bola Tinubu with ordering the security agencies to sustain their pressure on criminals perpetrating violence and criminal activities in Katsina State and the country in general.

The call followed a motion of urgent national importance moved by Hon. Sada Soli during plenary in Abuja.

While moving the motion, Soli expressed worries about the devastating impact of banditry on the lives and livelihoods of people of Katsina State, adding that the escalating banditry attacks in Katsina State has resulted to loss of lives, destruction of properties and kidnapping of innocent men, women, and children every blessed day.

According to him, the security agencies are yet to take immediate and decisive action to address the security challenges in Katsina State.

He called for the increase in deployment of security personnel to the affected communities to combat banditry and restore peace and order.

He pointed out that some gangs of armed bandits from neighboring Kaduna and Zamfara States are making all efforts to gain control over some communities in Katsina State.

Soli worried that Katsina State is near being overrun by the criminal elements if no urgent and decisive action is taken to curb the activities of the bandits and restore peace to about 18 local governments.
