Protesters reel out demands on second day of hunger protests in Ibadan [PHOTOS]

Protesters in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, have demanded an end to bad governance across the country on the second day of the nationwide protest.

The protesters gathered in front of the University of Ibadan in the morning and moved through Agbowo and Orogun, to other areas including Agbowo Express, Ajibode Junction and Ojoo.

The protesters who carried various placards lamented the rising cost of living across the country.

One of the leaders of the protesting groups, Abiodun Bamgboye, said that the demands of the protesters remain the same.

The demands, according to him include an end to bad governance and reversal of the price of Premium Motor Spirit to the old price.

“Immediate reversal of all of the anti-poor policies, specifically, the pump price of petrol to N197; immediate repositioning of all of the public refineries and end to importation of petroleum products; immediate reversal of the decision to hike the electricity tariff; political office holders should be placed on the salary and allowance earned by the civil servants; free education at all levels as constitutionally guaranteed and reversal of current regime of fee hike across the Nigeria public tertiary institutions; a national minimum living wage which is constitutionally guaranteed, which rises as inflation rises,” he enumerated.
