A team of police operatives comprising eight persons visited the home of the three siblings of the same parents who died as a result of suffocation in a parked car in Ilorin, Kwara State capital.
The sad incident occurred on February 25, 2024.
The police operatives, including a woman and seven male officers, stormed the scene of the incident at No. 8, Boluke residence, Zango-Kulende quarters, at about 11:30 a.m. as part of the ongoing investigation directed by the Inspector-General of Police to get to the root of the matter.
The operatives, who were in mufti, had two armed men with them during the fact-finding mission.
The investigators, arriving at the scene in a marked police Hilux van, inspected the ill-fated car and interrogated tenants and the landlady of the apartment rented by the parents of the deceased children.
They later asked the father of the deceased children, Abdulkadir Jimoh, to enter the ill-fated car. He found it difficult to disembark after closing the car door while inside.
It could not be confirmed if the father of the deceased children, who was taken away after the visit by the operatives, had been released at the time of this report.
DAILY POST recalls that after the incident, the IGP ordered a discreet investigation into the matter.
When contacted on Tuesday, the spokesperson of the state police command, Ejire Adeyemi Toun, confirmed the development.
Ejire explained that “until the investigation is concluded, no detailed information could be provided.”
