‘Pray to God for mercy’ – Etsu Nupe expresses concern over epileptic rainfall

The Etsu Nupe and Chairman, Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar has expressed concern over the epileptic rainfall being experienced in the current rainy season.

He appealed to Nigerians to intensify prayers seeking for God’s mercy and steady rainfall for bumper harvests in 2024.

The traditional ruler, who raised the concern in an interview in Minna on Tuesday, said the situation requires divine intervention in the face of imminent drought.

“It is a slow-onset of disaster characterised by the lack of precipitation, resulting in a water shortage.

“Therefore, prayers are the only panacea to the looming crisis that may befall some parts of the country if bumper harvests were not recorded,” the Etsu Nupe stated.

He observed that the development would aggravate the already dire socio-economic situation presently confronting the nation.
