Police urge peaceful conduct during planned protest in Taraba

The Taraba State Police Command has called for caution and peaceful conduct when the nationwide protest organised by the Nigeria Labour Congress between February 27th and 28th commences.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Commissioner of Police, David Iloyanomon, said the Command has initiated a robust security measure by deploying high-visibility police patrols to key areas, including government facilities, warehouses, hospitals, schools, markets, and residential zones.

The deployment, according to him, aims to reassure citizens of the Command’s unwavering commitment to ensuring their safety amid the planned protests.

While recognizing the constitutional right of citizens to engage in peaceful protests, the Command emphasized the importance of adherence to the law throughout the processions.

CP Iloyanomon stressed that the Command will enforce legal measures to prevent any infringement of individuals’ rights.

He said operational and manpower resources have been strategically deployed across the state to facilitate the smooth and orderly conduct of the protests.
