Police recover guns from ritualists, cultists, kidnappers

Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested a ritualist with human hair.

The suspect, in custody and helping police in their investigation, was arrested alongside the exhibits.

The suspect, Favour Eze, a 24-year-old male native of Amasiri Village in Afikpo LGA, Ebonyi State, was also arrested in possession of a locally made pistol and hard drugs suspected to be Loud, all concealed in a bag of clothes.

Dragon Tactical Patrol Teams were conducting a stop-and-search operation along Ogwashi-Uku/Kwale Road when they intercepted a red commercial Toyota Sienna space van conveying passengers from Asaba to Warri.
Upon search of the vehicle and occupants, the exhibits were recovered.

Also, the special team deployed to Ughelli, led by ASP Julius Robinson, acting on technically generated intelligence, stormed Oghara town and arrested a 28-year-old suspect who is a member of the Eiye Confraternity and a resident of Oghara, Delta State.

The suspect led the operatives to a hotel in Koko Junction, Oghara, where another suspect, aged 46, and a member of the Eiye Confraternity was arrested and an automatic pump action gun was recovered from him.

Consequently, upon further interrogation of the two suspects, they led the operatives to the arrest of another 32-year-old suspect in Sapele Delta State, where one new AK-47 rifle and an empty magazine were recovered.

A preliminary investigation revealed that suspects are linked to a series of kidnappings in Ughelli, Warri, Sapele, and the environs. The suspects are in custody and the investigation is ongoing.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, confirmed the development.
