Police react as vigilante group, Fulani clash in Abuja

The Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Police Command has reacted to a clash between a group of Fulani boys and a vigilante group in Yaba, Abaji Area Council of the territory.

DAILY POST learnt that the clash, which occurred on Saturday, led to the death of one vigilante member, while about six others sustained various degrees of injuries.

Reacting to the report, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh in a statement on Sunday, said only three persons were injured during the clash.

“On receipt of the report of a clash involving a villante group and the Fulanis, DPO Yaba mobilized to the scene where three vigilante members with various degrees of matchet cut injuries were rescued and rushed to Abaji General Hospital”, she said.

According to her, a preliminary investigation into the incident revealed that the clash erupted as a result of unlawful impoundment of motorcycles belonging to the Fulanis.

“The situation was brought to control and normalcy restored. Incident still under investigation by the Yaba Division”, the PPRO added.
