Police present N134million cheques to families of deceased officers in Zamfara

The Commissioner of Police, Zamfara State Command, Muhammad Shehu Dalijan, on behalf of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has presented cheques totaling N134.4 million to 25 families of deceased police officers who lost their lives in active service.

The cheques issued were part of the IGP’s welfare initiative under the Group Personal Accident, Group Life Insurance, and IGP Family Welfare Schemes of the Force.

The commissioner reiterated the IGP’s determination and commitment to ensuring the welfare of members of the force, whether alive or deceased, is paramount.

He advised the beneficiaries to use the money judiciously to address their academic and other financial needs.

He prayed for the eternal rest of the departed officers and expressed hope that their families would find the strength to bear the irreparable loss.

On behalf of the recipients, Hauwau Ibrahim and Lawrence Douglas, appreciated the efforts of the Inspector General of Police and the Commissioner of Police, Zamfara State Command.

They, on behalf of other beneficiaries, promised to make good use of the financial assistance provided to them.
