Police place N50m bounty on 2 bandits in Katsina

The Katsina State Police Command have placed a N50 million bounty on suspected bandit kingpins, Modi Modi and Jan Kare.

In a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Abubakar Aliyu, in Katsina, the police alleged that the duo were responsible for most of the terrorist attacks in the state.

“The Katsina State Police Command wishes to announce a reward of N50 million to any individual who provides valuable information that will lead to the arrest of two bandits’ kingpins.

“They are popularly known as Modi Modi and Jan Kare, all males, operating within Katsina State, particularly in the regions of Kankara and Safana Local Government Areas.

“The safety and well-being of the residents are of paramount importance, hence, the state government and the police command’s commitments in taking decisive actions against criminal elements that threaten the peace and stability of the inhabitants of the state,” he said.

According to him, the identity of the informant and the information provided would be kept strictly confidential to ensure their safety and protection.

“All concerned citizens are encouraged to come forward with any relevant information that could assist the security agencies in apprehending the masterminds behind these heinous crimes of kidnapping and banditry in the state,” he added.
