Twenty-eight suspects were on Thursday paraded by the Taraba State Police Command for various criminal activities.
Parading the suspects before newsmen at the police headquarters in Jalingo, the state capital, the Commissioner of Police, David Iloyanomon, said the suspects were arrested for various offenses, including kidnapping, armed robbery and culpable homicide.
Highlighting the significant strides made by the Police in curbing criminal activities within the state, the commissioner commended the collaborative efforts between the security agencies and the public, which he said have led to notable achievements in combating various forms of criminality.
Reeling out the Command’s successes, he said several arrests were made, including the apprehension of Abdulkarim Ibrahim, a notorious kidnapper operating in Sardauna local government council.
“Numerous firearms, including AK-47 rifles, pistols and ammunition, were seized during operations targeting armed criminals,” he said.
The commissioner who also announced that progress was made in solving cases of homicide, including the arrest of suspects linked to the killing of a local monarch in Gassol local government council, said the arrest of individuals engaged in cyber-crime activities, including impersonation of police officers, highlights ongoing efforts to combat digital crimes within the state.
